SIP WINE IN SANTORINI

Wine production on the island of Santorini dates back to ancient times.

DOMAINE SIGALAS

Located in a peaceful vineyard in Oia, it’s the first winery in Santorini that became famous outside of Greece. It’s a great place to stop in for a small tasting and catch the world-famous Oia sunset.

Avli Tip: Book the Volcano’s Diver experience, a guided walk in one of the oldest vineyards in the world, accompanied by a tasting flight and dinner.

VASSALTIS VINEYARDS

The newest addition to the Santorini winery scene, Owner Yannis Valambous transformed the family vineyard in 2016 into a modern, state-of-the-art boutique winery to craft exquisite wines which showcase the quality of Santorini’s grapes.

Avli Tip: Visit the tasting room, where modern luxury meets traditional Greek hospitality.

GAIA WINES

Set right against the blue of the Aegean Sea, Gaia Winery in Santorini is an ideal destination for wine experiences, tastings, and tours. The volcanic soil, very high summer temps, and sea winds create rare, precious, and unique wines.

Avli Tip: Book the Wine & Cheese Lover’s Tour where you’ll learn about the winemaking process and taste 4 top-rated Gaia wines paired with Cycladic cheese under a pergola by the beach.

ESTATE ARGYROS

Estate Argyros was established in 1903, making it one of the vineyards with the oldest vines. Nestled in the vineyards, you’ll find the cutting-edge production facility with a beautiful and airy tasting hall.

Avli Tip: Discover the heritage grape Assyrtiko in the “Taste the Real Santorini” fun and educational experience.

GAVALAS WINERY

The Gavalas Winery is a boutique family winery, one of the oldest in Santorini. It’s located in the village of Megalochori, a quaint town that’s centuries old with traditional walkways and architecture.

Avli Tip: Book a tour and learn about the history and traditions of Gavalas while walking amongst the old stone-built cellars. Before you leave, stock up dessert wines.

VENETSANOS WINERY

Venetsanos winery is located right above the port of Athinios, overlooking the beautiful caldera of Santorini.  Its most distinguishing feature is the structural design, which was built in an unconventional manner and was constructed from above to downwards.

Avli Tip: Finish your wine tour at The Sunset Terrace and enjoy a glass (or bottle) while viewing the famous Santorini Sunset.
